Has it been awhile since your windows have been cleaned both inside and out? You might find windows that have been left to the elements can become a difficult task to clean. However, with some effort, there are methods as to how to clean neglected windows more effectively so you can renew the clear clean window you once had. Ameribest Carpet Cleaning will share the best methods to clean windows both inside and out and even those that has been left untouched maybe a little bit too long.
To start cleaning the interior windows of your home, you will want to gather all your cleaning tools. You will want to have a bucket filled with water and a few drops of liquid dish soap. You’ll need a sponge, squeegee, dry cloth and a window cleaner. These tools along with cleaning agents will be used for both inside and outside the windows. You will first want to wash the windows with the soapy water and a sponge; especially if the windows haven’t been cleaned for some time. Going from top to bottom, wipe the windows down with the sponge and water. Make sure you wipe around the window frames as well. After you have washed the window down, use a dry cloth to wipe the window dry. Next, with your window cleaner such as Windex or your preferred window cleaner, spray the window down. With either a paper towel of micro fiber cloth, wipe the windows down to remove any streaks left behind. Repeat this for every window in the home but make sure to do one window at a time. There are some natural cleaners that can be used such as diluted vinegar with water. However if you use this method, make sure to use distilled water to dilute the vinegar. Tap water will leave streaks on the windows. Rubbing alcohol also works wonders on glass.
The outside windows will use a similar method. However, you will want to use a garden hose and squeegee. Start by removing the screens and rinsing them off with the hose. You may want to consider removing all of the window screens outside of your home. Rinse them off first so they can start to dry. Next, use the hose to rinse the window and then with your sponge and soapy water, wash the window and the frame thoroughly. Also make sure to get all the dirt out of the corners. After washing the window use the hose again to rinse the soap off. Again pay close attention to the corners as often dirt gets stuck and creates mud when cleaning the windows. After spraying the window clean with the hose, use a squeegee to remove most of the water then spray your choose of cleaning agent on the window and wipe the window clean. Make sure there is no water left in the corners of the window sills and that they are wiped down dry.
